NEN 7510 – Basis for information security in healthcare

The NEN 7510 is the fundamental standard for information security within healthcare in the Netherlands. This standard provides guidelines to ensure that medical data is securely stored, protected from unauthorized access and loss, and not misused. Within our practice, we employ strict security measures to ensure that only authorized individuals have access to your data. NEN 7512 – Secure exchange of medical data.

The NEN 7512 ensures that such data exchanges are secure and controlled, with your consent and privacy being central.

NEN 7513 – Log file recording for medical data.

Identity verification and BSN registration.

In addition to the NEN standards, we follow the requirements of the Law on the Use of Citizen Service Number in Healthcare (wbsn-z). This law requires us to establish the patient’s identity and register the Citizen Service Number (BSN) at the start of treatment.

This ensures the reliability and security of healthcare information and helps us comply with legal requirements. Identity and BSN registration help reduce errors and misunderstandings surrounding patient data.
