What is the WGBO law?

At Silderhuis Speech Therapy, we value an open, clear and respectful treatment relationship with all of our clients. The Medical Treatment Agreement Act (WGBO) lays the foundation for this cooperation and regulates the rights and obligations of both the patient and the healthcare provider. We believe it is important that you are aware of your rights so that you can begin your treatment process with confidence and clarity.

Your rights as a patient

Within the WGBO, as a patient, you are entitled to clear information about your treatment. We ensure that you are fully informed about the nature of the treatment, its purpose, the expected results and any alternatives. Your speech therapist will take the time to answer your questions and provide explanations so that you can participate in the course of treatment with a good understanding and confidence.

Your consent is essential in this process. We do not initiate treatment without your express consent, and you have the right to revise your choice at any time. Moreover, the WGBO gives you the right to see your medical records and request a copy whenever you wish. We believe it is important that you have an understanding of the information we record and will assist you in accessing your records whenever possible.

Our duties as a healthcare provider

The WGBO requires us as healthcare providers to treat you in a professional, careful and respectful manner. At Silderhuis Speech Therapy, we work according to current guidelines and standards to provide you with the best possible care. Among other things, this means that we are obliged to keep an accurate medical record, in which all relevant information about your treatment is recorded.

We safeguard the confidentiality of your information and share it with other health care providers only when necessary for your treatment and with your consent. Your privacy and security are very important to us, and we always treat your information with the utmost care and discretion.

Your care plan at Silderhuis Speech Therapy

At Silderhuis Speech Therapy, we strive to work with you to develop a treatment plan tailored to your personal needs and goals. We believe that a good treatment relationship, based on mutual trust and open communication, is essential to the success of the course. Your well-being is paramount, and we are always available to answer your questions and address any concerns you may have.

Using the WGBO as a basis, we work to ensure a transparent and committed partnership, where your rights are respected and you feel comfortable receiving the care you deserve.
